Making Week: Fashion collaboration
This week we were joined with the fashion pathway. In small groups we
combined our knowledge of 3d with fashion and as a result produced a
very bold wearable piece of 3d work using materials such as books and
sheets of paper. We made a hat, top and a skirt, two of us worked on the design and making of the hat and the other two on the top and skirt, which i believe made it easier and encouraged communication between the group to ensure what we individually made worked as an ensemble. We made the hat using the blue and red church hat i had made previously as a base for a new design. We added folded coloured paper and folded maps to increase the height and give it a geometric feel, also i think it looks bolder and stands out more than my original church hat. Overall i found this collaboration useful as my project has a lot to do with fashion not just demonic objects. During this collaboration we worked with the models measurements in mind, which made me more conscious of the size of my hat, who i was making it for and if i even want to make it specifically for someone. I'm, sure our outfit on a whole was very bold and striking, with each piece complementing the other.
