Final Major Project

I have looked into the descriptions of Satan and things that can represent him. I visited The Natural History Museum to look for animals with horns for example Goats who are largely associated with satan who is believed to have goat like qualities to his appearance.

While looking at animals that can represent the Devil i came across a helmet in the British museum which had two horns on it, i thought this would have been inspired by a animal to present an aggressive feel to it.

Final Major Project.

For my final major project i want to make Demonic head-wear.
I started my research collecting information on demons from various cultures at the British Museum. I found that demons, mostly from Asian cultures often had multiple arms, this showed their many strengths and attributions.  I want to do more research into demons, also what it means to be a demon and interpretations of it in different religions however I do not  want to go into this in too much detail as its a huge area to cover holistically and would be time consuming. Therefore I am attempting to research this briefly and go on to study a specific area of the research i have gathered. I am interested in exploring text and plays to make a response to. I will be starting with text from ‘The sorrows of Satan’ book by Marie Corelli while exploring alternatives.  I want to explore new materials for example plastics and metals also processes that I have not used in the six units of the pathway and I am looking to develop my research skills and include more primary research. Through the research and development I imagine this will have an impact my initial idea or concept, I may not necessarily produce demonic inspired headwear it could be biblical inspired headwear. Availability of materials may lead influence my final outcome, it could lead to me not making a headpiece that is too large, I may decide make something that is smaller and easier to manipulate therefore being more cost effective meaning I could work with more specialised materials which I will keep document of in a reflective journal.
